Code of Conduct (Participants)
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from all students, parents/guardians, and participants attending classes or courses at The Cookery Cabin.
It is designed to help create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all children, families, and class leaders.
2. Respect for Others

Treat class leaders, students, and parents with kindness and respect at all times.

Use polite language and positive behaviour during classes.

Bullying, rude behaviour, discrimination, or harassment will not be tolerated.
3. Safety First

Follow all kitchen safety instructions given by the class leader.

Students must use kitchen equipment only when instructed and supervised.

Appropriate clothing, including footwear, should be worn for all classes.

Long hair should be tied back and loose jewellery avoided.

Parents/guardians must inform The Cookery Cabin of any allergies, medical conditions, additional needs, or dietary requirements before the class begins.
4. Participation and Behaviour

Students are encouraged to participate, try new skills, and work cooperatively with others.

Running, shouting, throwing food or equipment, and unsafe behaviour are not permitted.

Mobile phones and devices should be kept to a minimum during class unless needed for learning purposes or emergencies.

Repeated disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behaviour may result in a discussion with parents/guardians and, where necessary, temporary or permanent removal from classes.
5. Care of Equipment and Facilities

All equipment, utensils, and facilities should be treated with care and respect.

Any breakages, damage, or accidents should be reported immediately to a class leader.
6. Hygiene Standards

Everyone must wash their hands before handling food.

Workstations should be kept clean and tidy throughout the session.

Students should follow food hygiene and cleanliness instructions carefully.
7. Parent/Guardian Expectations

Parents and guardians should support a respectful and positive environment.

Please arrive on time for the start of the class / drop-off and collection.

Any concerns should be raised calmly and respectfully with class leaders outside of teaching time.

Parents must ensure contact and emergency details are kept up to date.
8. Attendance and Communication

Please inform Triona, as early as possible, if you are unable to attend a class.

All class-related communication should take place through official The Cookery Cabin communication channels (email, phone, WhatsApp, text message, or social media) and not through personal or private contact with class leaders.
9. Safeguarding

Any safeguarding or welfare concerns will be dealt with appropriately and, where necessary, in line with our safeguarding policy which can be found here.
10. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

11. Photography and Social Media

Photos or videos may only be taken with prior permission from The Cookery Cabin.

Images or videos of other children/participants must not be shared on social media or online without appropriate consent from parents/guardians and The Cookery Cabin.
12. Agreement
By attending classes at The Cookery Cabin, students, parents, and guardians agree to follow this Code of Conduct and support a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone.
